Jan Kozempel

Dr. Ján Kozempel graduated at the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic in the field of nuclear chemistry. He continued with his Ph.D. on the preparation of 64Cu and labelling of bis-thiosemicarbazone ligands and polymers in the same lab. During his studies he also worked in the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in the radiopharmaceuticals production facility. He defended his Ph.D. in 2010 and moved to the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra, Italy, where he spent three years dealing with radionuclides production and radiolabelled nanomaterials preparation for toxicological studies. In 2012 he returned to Prague and was appointed as an assistant professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague where he established novel radiopharmaceutical chemistry research group. His research is focused on targeted alpha particle therapy, preparation and separation of theranostic radionuclides and radiolabelling of various compounds and nanomaterials. In 2017 he was promoted to obtain an associate professorship.
